The campus BMC is a highly-mechanized mail processing plant, dedicated to the distribution of first-class, second-class, third-class mail in bulk form, and fourth-class in piece and bulk form. With the cooperation of other campus units (Printing Services, Campus Mail Services, SCRIPT), the BMC is able to meet the mass mailing needs of campus units and coordinate all university business with the US Postal Service (USPS).

Mail Preparation Services

The US Postal Service is continually striving to improve and expand the capabilities of its equipment. However, nothing is more important to the success of automated mail processing than letter mail that is prepared for equipment compatibility in accordance with postal guidelines. The BMC is well versed in these postal regulations and, with its heavy machine capability, is able to meet the demands of campus bulk mail.

The campus Bulk Mail Center offers a complete line of mail preparation services to meet your mailing needs:

  • Folding: letters, self-mailers, brochures
  • Metering: First Class and non-profit bulk rate
  • Labeling: 1-up Avery by machine; hand labeling if workload permits
  • Inserting: Letters, cards, brochure
  • Sorting: in accordance with US Postal Service regulations
  • List Producation: will import your mailing list and print labels / USPS documentation

Bulk Rate is for mailings of at least 200 identical pieces or at least 50 pounds of identical pieces that are specially prepared and sorted by Zip Code. When mailing large quantities, it is possible to save a significant amount of money in postage fees.
